La «Real World Tag League» es el torneo de AJPW exclusivo para parejas de peso completo comenzará el 18 de noviembre en el Shinjuku FACE y terminará el 7 de diciembre en el Tokyo Korakuen Hall con ocho jornadas de competencia.
La Real World Tag League se fundó en 1977. El torneo original se llamó Open Tag League, pero adoptó su nombre actual desde 1978 en adelante.
Dory Funk Jr. y Terry Funk fueron los ganadores del primer torneo. Los únicos equipos que han ganado el torneo con un récord perfecto son Genichiro Tenryu y Stan Hansen en 1989, Bubba Ray y D-Von en 2005 y Manabu Soya y Takao Omori en 2016.
El torneo se lleva a cabo bajo las reglas de todos contra todos. Se otorgan dos puntos por cada una victoria, un punto por un empate y cero puntos por una derrota.
