NJPW has always sought the presence of foreigners in its functions, who are traditionally the "villains" in front of the native heroes, for this reason it has had working agreements with wrestling and mixed martial arts companies around the world, including WWE, AEW, World Championship Wrestling (WCW), Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), Full Impact Pro, Ring of Honor (ROH), PRIDE Fighting Championships and the Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL).

New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) is a professional wrestling company founded by Antonio Inoki in 1972, it is the largest and longest-running professional wrestling promotion in Japan, and the second worldwide, behind WWE.

More about NJPW

NJPW was originally the most important representative of the Strong-Style, also known as Shoot Wrestling, imposed by Inoki, a style “hard and demanding”, influenced by martial arts. Their first event was on March 6, 1972. Over time NJPW has adopted a much broader combination of styles, ranging from the use of WWE-style promos, to Mexican air wrestling.

In 2019, NJPW announced the formation of a subsidiary in the United States, called New Japan Pro-Wrestling of America. In 2020, the affiliate's weekly show NJPW Strong was featured, which airs on Friday nights on NJPW World.
